published: stylized shoot featured on elizabeth anne designs

A few months ago, I had the privilege of working alongside a fabulous team of wedding vendors from all over the United States to create a stylized shoot, featuring the elegant style of the 1900′s coupled with today’s vintage trends. Surrounded by so many gorgeous gowns, stunning headpieces, and elegant backdrops, I was transported back in time.

The entire team of vendors we had pulled together simply blew me away with their expertise.  I was in Heaven-everything could not have been more perfect and together created one spectacular day of shooting.

Our Maiden’s Voyage…

In this series you will see a delicate balance of early 1900′s class and modern day sass. When developing the concept of this styled shoot we wanted to bring something old and treasured into our current lives. Just then it hit us as a drink made its way across this beautifully up-lit bar! The drink was called the Titanic served at Trummer’s on Main in Clifton, VA. The drink is handcrafted with a large “iceberg” of carved ice that bobs menacing in the glass. We have seen the tragic story of the Titanic told so many ways; we wanted to find our own approach. We focus on our bride as she begins the day of her wedding making final decisions. Full of hope and anticipation she carefully chooses words to be spoken, morsels to be enjoyed, and china to be set. As we watch her anticipate her new life, she has yet another monumental decision; which dress?

So often we simply view a choice after it has been made, yet forgetting to recognize how much beauty lies in the choice itself: thus, imagine the sheer beauty then of our bride’s choice toward her future, regardless of any consequence that may lay ahead. Each moment is filled with mini moments and that is what we have focused on, capturing these mini moments and loving every second of it!

After a few short hours after arriving on the RMS Titanic, our Cailin will marry. Much must be decided, what to wear, what to say, and, what to eat. What does her life have in store after saying I do and turning the key that opens the door to her new life’s choices?
